Ce 8 mars, les femmes de la Marche mondiale ont lancé la Charte mondiale des femmes pour l'humanité. À Sao Paulo, Brésil, où avait lieu le lancement international de la Charte et du relais, 40 000 femmes (et hommes), ont participé à l'événement.  Elles ont pris la rue pour dire qu'elles voulaient un monde basé sur la liberté, l'égalité, la solidarité, la justice et la paix. Ensemble, les femmes des différentes régions du Brésil, ont construit leur morceau de courtepointe. Les Brésiliennes réclament aussi la hausse du salaire minimum, une réforme agraire, l'avortement libre, gratuit et dans des conditions sûres.
