International Day of Solidarity with women cleaners in Greece

14-09-2014
The World March of Women send our solidarity to the 595 cleaners of the Economics Ministry in Greece, who are victims of the austerity measures imposed by the Government and the Troika, taking their jobs and giving them to private sub-contractors.

Their exemplar struggle, which it’s been on for eleven months now, had worldwide recognition. Full of imagination and energy, these brave women are defying the Greek government and resisting the police’s brutal attacks, demanding justice.

Now, they are asking our support so that their voices can be heard with more strength from every corner of the planet through the organisation of an international day of solidarity around the 20th September.  How can we support them:

- Disseminating their appeal among our contacts and social networks. Click to read it  in English, French, Spanish

- Organizing a solidarity and support action in your country or territory.

- Sending solidarity messages to: sonia.mitralia@gmail.com;  http://595katharistries.wordpress.com/international-solidarity
