Feminism on the march to change the world!
16-08-2013
From the 25th to the 31st August 2013, the city of São Paulo (Brazil) will host the 9th International Meeting of the World March of Women (WMW). The meeting will combine the assembly of delegates from National Coordinating Bodies of the WMW with a broad training seminar for activists of the WMW in Brazil and neighbouring countries.
We are expecting the participation of 150 delegates, observers and guests from over 40 countries/territories of Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Arab World, as well as 1.400 activists from Brazil and several other latin american countries. The panels will address questions such as “The Trajectory of Feminism in Latin America”, “Accumulation by Dispossession: Work, Nature and Women’s Bodies” and “Feminism and building alternatives”. The assembly of delegates will decide which country will host the next International Secretariat and will outline the 4th International Action that will take place in 2015.
The Meeting will finish on the 31st August with a big women’s demonstration in the streets of downtown São Paulo to reaffirm feminism as a project to change the world and women’s lives.
