A rally at Towne Centre in Oakville

The Women of Halton Action Movement staged a
rally at Towne Centre in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Representatives of the
Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services, the local Peace Group
and Canadians in Support of Afghan Women spoke. Bev LeFrancois, local
feminist activist, welcomed everyone and several women presented the five values
of the women's charter. Canada's renowned feminist journalist, Sally Armstrong,
also said a few words. Local newspapers covered the event as well as the local
Hamilton Television Station.
