Eliminate Poverty in All Stages of Life

The World March of Women determined six world demands to eliminate poverty on the planet.

The coordinating bodies of countries participating in the March took up these demands. In some countries they incorporated the world demands into a platform of national demands that included specific issues linked to the degree of economic development, the state of health and communications infrastructure, legislation, social programs, and so on.

Demonstration to support women with disabilities (Central African Republic).

Common threads did appear, especially concerning the role of the State in delivering and regulating social policies to satisfy basic social and economic needs (free access to water, and energy sources; construction of affordable housing and roads; distribution of food to the poorest sectors; access to health care, particularly care surrounding maternity, sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS/HIV); access to education and occupational training; and women's real participation in political decision-making.

Making ourselves heard to gain equal status with men
(March in Peru).

Such changes must be written into law. Civil codes must be amended to improve the status of women and ensure full equality between women and men.
