The World March of Women in the Year 2000 was made possible thanks to the commitment of all participating groups throughout the world; thanks to the national coordinating bodies; thanks to the members of all the committees, including the Coordinating Committee, the Board of Directors of the Fédération des femmes du Québec, and the International Liaison Committee; thanks to the women working on the international team and the many volunteers; and, most especially, thanks to all the women who believed in the March.

Since the World March of Women was a collective undertaking carried out by an incalculable number of women across the planet, you will find very few names mentioned in this document. Nonetheless, we wish to single out Françoise David, president of the Fédération des Femmes du Québec from 1994 to 2001, and Diane Matte, World March of Women coordinator as of 1997, for their outstanding contribution.

Women on the March is a project undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and Status of Women Canada, and with the support of the Intersyndicale des femmes, the CSN, CSQ, Inter Pares, the QFL, FIIQ, SFPQ, AQOCI, CECI, CUSO, Alternatives and SUCO

The following organizations provided financial aid for the international side of the World March of Women in the Year 2000 (1997-2000): Agence intergouvernementale de la Francophonie; Association québécoise des organismes de coopération internationale; Centrale des syndicats du Québec; Canadian Centre for International Studies and Cooperation; International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development; Confédération des syndicats nationaux; Canadian Religious Conference (region of Québec); Canadian Labour Congress; CUSO; United Church of Canada; Fédération des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec; Québec Federation of Labour; Canadian Women's Foundation; Fondation Heinrich Boell; Fondation Jean et Marcelle Coutu; Fondation Paul et Jules Léger; Samuel Rubin Foundation; Fondation Solstice; Gloria Steinem Fund; Steelworkers Humanity Fund (Canada); Funding Exchange; Government of Canada: CIDA, Canada Information Office, Millennium Bureau, Status of Women Canada, Canadian Heritage, Public Works; Government of Québec: Emploi Québec, Fonds de lutte contre la pauvreté, Ministère des relations internationales, SACA; Inter Church Action; the Teamsters (Québec and New-York); Mama Cash; Ms Foundation; NOVIB; Open Society Institute; OXFAM (Canada, Hong Kong, Québec); UNDP; Primate's World Relief and Development Fund; Service Employees International Union; Sister Fund; Sœurs Auxiliatrices; Syndicat de la fonction publique du Québec; Syndicat des communications, énergie et papier, fonds d'humanité; Canadian Union of Postal Workers (Prairies); Syndicat des travailleuses et travailleurs publics; Canadian Auto Workers; Teleglobe; Global Fund for Women; UNESCO; UNIFEM.

We wish to thank all of them for their generosity, together with all those individuals and organizations who, either through donations or free time, contributed to the work of the World March of Women national coordinating bodies established throughout the world.
