September 3rd to 4th – Gathering, march, seminar, theatre, party in Morokulien at the border of Sweden and Norway to highlight:
-
The centennial of the peaceful separation of the two countries, to a great extent thanks to women Peace activists!
-
The centennial of the Nobel Peace Prize to Bertha von Suttner and along with today’s nomination of 1000 women from all over the world for the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 2005!
As for theatre, a new play will focus on the correspondence between Bertha von Suttner (one of the most well known women in the world of that time) and Alfred Nobel, and on the millions of women struggling for peaceful solutions of today’s conflicts.
At the seminar we will take up the subjects of Women and Poverty, Women and Fundamentalism, Women and Peace.
Actions are taking place in different parts of the country. We canvass signatures against rape and try to be present for protesting at places where women have been raped. We actively support the protection centres for women.
All activities are carried out in the name of the WMW, of course.
