Organization
At the fourth international meeting of the World March of Women which took place in India, from March 18 to 22, 2003, 3 collectives and 3 working groups were formed: Alliances and globalization collective, Communications collective, Collective on peace and demilitarisation; Violence against women working group, Working group on feminist economic alternatives, Working group on the rights of lesbians.
- Collectives
- The collectives are international committees of the March that will have to represent the March and to further the thinking and act about the themes they have to think of. They have to update the debate on the platform of world demands. They explore certain issues and identify which groups or networks are working on these topics so we could we can organize collective actions with them. They propose and carry out training activities. They are composed of at least one woman from each world region. They may only be formed by the International Meeting and must report regularly to the International Committee and the Secretariat.
- Working Groups
- Working groups further the thinking and discussion about issues the World March wants to deepens. They ensure that this information is shared among national coordinating bodies. They also work to advance and update the debate on the platform of world demands. They identify topics to focus on and individuals and networks working on these topics with whom we can organize collective actions. They promote and realise training activities.
