Logo Policy
The World March of Women in the Year 2000, initiated by the Fédération des femmes du Québec, is an action aimed at bringing about concrete change in association with the struggles against poverty and violence against women in each participating country and at the international level. To increase the visibility of our action, we have created a logo that we use in different visual formats. Participating groups of the World March of Women are encouraged to use our logo on their letterhead, newsletters, Web sites and other publications created in the course of organizing the March, until December 31, 2000. The logo should be used for educational purposes or in the context of mobilization activities and actions in the framework of the World March of Women. A participating group is a group who has sent in the sign-up coupon and received a letter of confirmation; they are then included in our data base.
The following rules were established in order to protect the image of the project, “World March of Women in the Year 2000” and to respect the copyright of our graphic designers:
1. The name of the organization using the logo must be prominent on the document it produces, and the general content should not create the impression of a publication produced by the March office in Montreal, Canada.
2. Those who use the logo are entirely responsible for the content of any publications or documents produced featuring the March logo. The Coordinating Committee of the World March of Women cannot, under any circumstances, be held responsible for any harm or injury resulting from such utilization of the logo.
A written authorization from the Coordinating Committee in Montreal is required when proposing to use the logo in the following contexts:
- When the logo is used for fundraising or for any activities for which a substantial admission price is asked. The same thing applies when producing promotional materials with the aim of selling them.
- When the logo is used on products or commercial wrapping or to promote commercial products and services.
To obtain authorization, you must send a letter describing the context and the purpose for using the logo to the address below. The World March of Women in the Year 2000 reserves the right to refuse utilization of the logo in some cases.
In all cases, the logo must be utilized according to the specifications seen below. It should be reproduced in the official colours Pantone: black, blue (#process blue C), green (#376C), yellow (#109C), red (#032C).
When the logo is used in a way resembling one of the above-mentioned situations, two samples of each use of the March logo should be sent to us at the address below.
If the logo is used on a Web site, a link should be created with the World March site, http://www.marchemondiale.org ; please inform us of all such links.
The firm Rouleau/Paquin Design Communication created the logo for the World March of Women in the Year 2000. Every time you produce documents or objects featuring the March logo, the obligatory mention : Rouleau/Paquin Design Communications ©1998 must appear.
Journalists of the print and electronic media are encouraged to use the March logo in coverage of March-related events.
