Patchwork Quilt - Guinea
Our square quilt shows the violation of
rights women suffer through the numerous tasks they accomplish: several
pregnancies, family responsabilities, transportation of wood and water
on large distances.
For us it is necessary to have social justice to reach the autonomy and the effective blooming of the woman. Thus: the woman with the child on her back and the faggot of wood illustrate the violence against women; the balance in the medium of the quilt illustrates equitable justice; and finally the dove illustrates freedom, autonomy and blooming.
